Barred loach (Nemacheilus fasciatus) is an endemic fish species in Indonesia commonly found on the islands of Java and Sumatra. The economic potential of the barred loach is very high, but as time goes by, the population of barred loach in the wild is declining. A solution that can be applied is the domestication of barred loach for conservation purposes so that the barred loach species remains sustainable. The methods used in this study were direct practice and literature review. The purpose of this study was to determine the stages of domestication of the barred loach, from parent selection, spawning, larval rearing, and parent rearing. Based on the data obtained, barred loach parents that were ready for spawning were identified based on physical characteristics and stripping. Spawning of barred loach with a male:female ratio of 1:1 produced 889 eggs, with an FR of 69% and an HR of 97%. Larvae and broodstock rearing were carried out using different feeding techniques tailored to the needs, fish species, mouth size, and feeding habits of the barred loach. Barred loach larvae were fed green water, artemia, and pellet juice, while barred loach broodstock were fed sinking pellet paste twice a day.
